“Perfect Location in Old Town”

We stayed here for 5 nights in February. This was our 5th hotel in 3 weeks, traveling through Cambodia and Vietnam.

So somehow I forgot to book an airport pick-up with the Cinnamon Hotel as I did all the other hotels.

While in the airport in Da Nang I emailed them and they said they would pick us up, awesome service on such short notice!

The hotel is in a great location in the old quarter near lots of shopping, a few blocks from Hoan Kiem Lake, tons of street food, The Cinnamon Hotel is very tall and narrow, like many other buildings in Vietnam.

There are only 3 rooms per floor and I think 6 or 7 floors. Our room was on the 3rd floor. They served us a sweet ginger tea during check-in, the bell-boy took our bags up those three flights of stairs! There is no elevator. They ask that you take off your shoes before you go upstairs.

You can store them in a locker at the bottom of the stairs or just carry them up to your room. They do have slippers to wear while you’re in you room. O

ur room was very spacious, a king bed and an additional twin for our daughter.

The room had sliding door out to a small balcony that overlooked St. Joseph’s Cathedral. The big bathroom was a bit dated, the bathtub/shower combo is a pretty big step up and into the tub. This hotel was pretty quiet, which we appreciated, except for the cathedral bells during the night and early morning. The wi-fi was a bit spotty. Breakfast was included, but it’s very limited. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They give you a scroll that has a bedtime story on it, when you come in to the hotel for the night. Super cute! We booked a Street Food Tour with the hotel and highly recommend it, the food and egg coffee on the tour were very good! .

“Great location and great staff ”

5 trên 5 bong bóng

The Cinnamon Cathedral Hotel is centrally located, near many restaurants and a short walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake and the night life in Beer Street, but far enough away so that it is very quiet (save for the Cathedral bells).

Helpfully it was also close to an excellent pho restaurant, Phở 10 Lý Quốc Sư and a telecom where you can buy a cheap SIM.

The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

My room was upgraded on the second day for free.

The staff organised a motorbike tour and a walking tour for me at short notice (both of which were excellent). And they were also were helpful when I was running late for my flight out of Hanoi.

When I return to Hanoi I will definitely stay at the Cinnamon Cathedral Hotel.

Really lovely hotel

Really lovely hotel, was very clean and well equipped. The staff were all incredible and friendly, couldn't help me enough, especially as I was travelling on my own and being my first visit to the country. Highly recommend this hotel.

Home away from home

We had a wonderful experience at Cinnamon Saigon! Jenny and the staff took really care of us, and treated us like family. They were very helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, and even basic lessons in Vietnamese pronunciation. The city was hot and deafening, but the rooms (we stayed in three different ones during successive stays) were cool, quiet and comfortable. Location was excellent and were able to walk or take a short cab ride to most of our destinations. I strongly recommend the Coconut Coffee served at breakfast!

Really lovely helpful kind staff. Day team and night team just delightful. Very comfortable clean room. They arranged airport pick up and a good tour of Mekong Delta. They went to the trouble of organising out onward train travel which involved a trip to the station. Just fantastic and do recommend.

A great place to stay!

We stayed for 3 nights with the Cinnamon Hotel and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff are super friendly and will help you with any information or bookings for tours. We would come in to our room everyday with our towels folded in to animal shapes and the breakfasts were great! Our room was facing the street which mean that we could hear the traffic outside however it did not bother us. It is also a good 20-30 minute walk from the markets, great restaurants and tourist attractions. We didn't need to spend a fortune to stay either!

Friendly, happy, comfy, tasty, handy

We were on our first trip to Ho Chi Minh City as a family of three (7 year-old boy) and were looking for a good, centrally located, but charming hotel. Our criteria were that simple. Central, inexpensive, comfortable and "local". We found it all at Cinnamon.

Jenny and her staff could not have been more welcoming, and were attentive to our every need, whether it was the name of a good tailor, suggestions for places to eat, or booking us excursions.

The hotel is boutique and very well appointed. It' a narrow-fronted building on a bustling street in the heart of District 1. The detailing in the rooms is great, giving a sense of both coolness and warmth. Even with two beds in our room there was plenty of space, and an AC unit and ceiling fan were welcome after a few hours in the steamy hate.

The breakfasts are simple but delicious - omelette, crepes, fresh fruit, etc. Try the egg coffee: it's sooo much tastier than you expect.

From the hotel we were able to walk to many of the central attractions, including the War Museum, the Reunification Palace, and the local markets, squares, cafes, restaurants and bars. You'll need transport of some kind if you want to journey outside District 1, but there is plenty in District 1 to fill a couple of days.

This will be our hotel of choice in HCMC. It's just brilliant from start to finish, top to bottom, and side to side.

Thanks so much, Jenny and are, for making our short visit such a fantastic one.

Clean, Good Location, Great Staff

I moved in to this hotel in the middle of the night after a bad experience elsewhere (at a fancier, bigger scale hotel). The staff were helpful, accommodating and friendly -- they even invited me to attend the wedding of one of a staff's relative.

Clean room with a nice little balcony. Location is good, very close and within walking distance to the night market, Ben Thanh Market and other sights. I think I received a complimentary foot massage, which was just OK, but it was complimentary so it was well-received. Daily breakfast could be more varied, but still quite satisfactory.

Simply the most friendliest hotel ever

Stayed here total 5 nights, small boutique style hotel, the staff are just so helpful, nothing is a problem and always with a smile. Walking distance of major tourist sights, backpacker street is also only a few minutes walk. I stayed in two different rooms, the quieter room being on the first floor at back, but then on return I stayed 2nd floor at front which gave me a small balcony overlooking the street. Also staff gave great helpful hints on best local food establishments, I look forward to going back again.

  • Great location. Stayed here one week. Service was exceptional. Happy Breakfast was great, food outstanding. The staff was SUPER! They were more than helpful in every way. We will stay here again when we come back.
  • Wonderful wonderful staff at a lovely hotel in great. I could not give this hotel enough credit. The staff were like family within 24 hours. They couldn't do enough and all the gorgeous personal touches they did for us.Loved it!
  • Excellent service and engagement from the Vietnamese staff. They were the highlight of our stay. Tastefully renovated interiors with large rooms and colonial features. Streetscape not brilliant, but a comfortable walk to most tourist destinations. Would definitely recommend as a boutique hotel experience in Ho Chi Minh.
