Great little hotel

Cinnamon boutique hotel was great for us, beyond my expectations even. We stayed two nights and had a late train the next day and the hotel stored our bags for us while we were on a tour and allowed us each to have a shower before the train. The location is good for most of the main attractions and the hotel is clean. Keep in mind there's no elevator here and it is an older building but other than that two thumbs up!

Nice location, friendly staff

The hotel is in a great location - a stone's throw away from the backpacker district and Ben Thanh Market; the staff is friendly and the food great. We thought it was good value for money though we would call it more a B&B than a hotel. There were some odd touches (slippers out at reception, shutters down at night) but these were minor quibbles. Overall, we had a good time and will stay here again.

Awesome experience

On a three city tour of Vietnam, Cinnamon Saigon was our first experience of amazing Vietnamese hospitality.Jenny and her wonderful staff took care of all our needs . Felt thoroughly at home. Although the hotel does not have a lift Jenny ensured we got rooms on the first floor. The free breakfast was excellent. Rooms were neat and clean and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Three of our group of five were vegetarians and the staff kindly wrote down Vietnamese phrases for "No meat, No beef" etc. Ultimate accolade .... would love to go back again!

Amazing staff

The main downside of this hotel is the noise from the busy street in front. Even with everything shut the sound of the street vendor megaphones at 3am and the car horns was still a little loud. The staff though were the nicest and friendliest I have ever had the pleasure of being looked after by. Beaming smiles and being addressed by name made it feel like home. Excellent free breakfast and clean cosy rooms. I'd love to stay again even if just for the service. Highly recommended

Another lovely stay at the Cinnamon

We love staying here. Staff are incredibly helpful and we always feel like family (thanks Jenny), nothing is ever too much trouble. We love the location in walking distance to Ben Than, War Remnants museum, backpackers district and many other attractions. We also enjoy the sounds of the city as they change throughout the day and find that closing the shutters blocks out most of that noise if needed.

This is a great hotel in Hanoi, I highly recommend it to everyone!”

After much online research, my family and I decided on this particular hotel because of its proximity to the Cathedral which provides a really wonderful and moody French colonial setting. The Hanoi cathedral church bells ring every hour just like they do today in provincial cities across France. We had a great room with three beds (one huge king-sized and two queen-sized beds for the kids) on the second floor overlooking the cathedral. Our room had a lovely high ceiling and really nice contemporary decoration, not at all tacky. And above all the room and was really spacious and clean, perfect with a huge outdoor balcony with plants. Bathroom was huge with big bath tub and shower a decent selection of pampering stuff, and nice blue mosaic tiles. The young hotel staff were super friendly at all times of the day and night and breakfast was nice too. Price was good, and we were very happy for our three night stay, absolutely zero complaints!!!

“Exceptional staff”

A friend of mine had stayed at the Cinnamon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, and she had been so impressed that I decided to choose the Cinnamon Cathedral Hotel for my most recent trip to Ha Noi.

The rooms are spic-n-span clean, the location is footsteps away from the Cathedral and the breakfast is copious as well as delicious.

But the true delight with the Cinnamon Hotels can be found with the staff. Enough cannot be said for their cheery disposition, their helpfulness and their eagerness to please.

A wholehearted recommendation!

“Charming hotel and staff”

This is a beautifully presented hotel - large rooms, lovely decor, comfortable beds, good temperature control and cleaned to a high standard. This was my first stay in Vietnam and the helpful and energetic staff gave me a really great introduction to this wonderful country. There are some terrific small touches including the provision of a sheet with key Vietnamese phrases; on arrival the very friendly Mai took us through the pronunciation of just enough basic words. They offer a complimentary foot massage which was very vigorous but appreciated! The breakfast is generous and tasty.

The only real downside if you're a light sleeper is the early morning noise of the bells, particularly if you're in a room directly opposite the cathedral. However they thoughtfully provide ear plugs. The hotel is well located, in walking
distance of the lake and many great food options, as well as the Cathedral.

It is worth noting that there are two Cinnamon hotels a few doors apart on the same street. Both are excellent hotels but the Cinnamon Cathedral is more spacious and more recently renovated. We actually booked for the Cinnamon Hotel but were happily accommodated at the Cinnamon Cathedral on our first visit. When we returned a few days later we were put at the Cinnamon Hotel, as per our booking. This was also a lovely hotel but if there is availability, I would recommend you book into the Cinnamon Cathedral, in spite of those noisy bells.

  • Excellent service and engagement from the Vietnamese staff. They were the highlight of our stay. Tastefully renovated interiors with large rooms and colonial features. Streetscape not brilliant, but a comfortable walk to most tourist destinations. Would definitely recommend as a boutique hotel experience in Ho Chi Minh.
